The Turbine Train

On Saturday afternoon a special train rolled throught Colfax and the 2011 Railroad Days.  This special consist was completely dedicated to moving wind turbine components.  Fans following its' progress noted that it had taken more than 8 hours to move 39 miles down "The Hill".  Apparently it had to be stopped along straight sections of track to allow other trains to pass on adjacent tracks.  Although not a scheduled attraction by Union Pacific Railroad, it was a much enjoyed and talked about 'added a surpise" Thanks!
