Boca

For many years Boca was a very active location along the Donner Route.  It boasted a large hotel and brewery, and ice was harvested here for use in refrigerator cars to help keep California fruit fresh on the long railroad journey to eastern markets.  From 1901-1916 Boca was also the terminus of the Boca and Loyalton Railroad that served numerous sawmills in the region.
